Wear and Care Guide:

- Activities to avoid
- Who to contact in case of a problem
Cleaning your Orthosis:
- It is important to clean the orthosis on a daily basis. For best results use rubbing alcohol. Alternatively use a soapy cloth and rinse with a damp cloth and towel dry.
- Always check your orthosis before putting it back on to ensure that it is undamaged and free from dirt.
Skin Care:
It is very important to prevent skin breakdown (sore, red, raw skin). The skin underneath the orthosis needs to be toughened up, especially where the orthosis applies the most pressure.
- Pay special attention to pink areas of the skin where orthosis pressure is highest.
- For children wearing a diaper (nappy), the brace is fitted over the diaper (nappy).
- This brace can be worn over clothing such as tights, tracksuit bottoms, leggings, etc.
- If skin irritation/breakdown persists, contact your fitter or clinic for advice.
NOTE:
- Any special Doctor’s / Orthotist orders should always supersede the general guideline information given in this guide.
